SOS Children's Villages is an international charity organization, operating in 135 countries for more than 65 years now.

The mission of its Polish branch is to provide support for children who were abandoned or orphaned. For those children, the association builds family forms of foster care, called SOS Children's Villages. It is there where the kids can find love and protection which are necessary for their healthy growth. Strong focus is also put on the preparation for the independent, adult life.

In Poland, there are currently four SOS Children's Villages in Biłgoraj (first one, est. in 1984), Kraśnik, Siedlce and Karlin. Within the foster care activities, some youth programs are operated as well as Temporary Residence Family Houses, which are homes to the children awaiting court decisions regarding their eventual place of residence.
