Two medals for one race? Why not! Our 2019 official t-shirt features a special medal - one from the children living in the SOS Children's Village in Kraśnik, Poland. The t-shirt was designed by 13-year-old Wiktoria.
It is the second time we've decided to leave the t-shirt design in the hands of children. We got lots of ideas and eventually chose the one of 13-year-old Wiktoria from SOS Children's Village in Kraśnik.
- This idea is just brilliant. The medal on our t-shirt is very symbolic. Each and every finisher of our race deserves it. Of course, they will also get a real finisher medal. But this one - from the t-shirt - is simply special. The one directly from children who are supported by our runners. We hope they will love to wear this t-shirt for a long time after the race – says Piotr Jakóbik, race director.
So far, RONDO 1 Run Up has generated over 200.000 PLN for charity. Dariusz Krysiak, Programme Director of SOS Children's Village in Kraśnik, finds this cooperation very important.
- We are extremely happy to take part in this initiative. Sports activity is so important for kids who were deprived of their biological parents' care. It's inspiring and it shows perseverance and reaching for new goals always pay off in the end.
2019 RONDO 1 Run Up takes place on 23 February 2019. All the monies from the entry fees will be given to SOS Children's Villages in Poland.
